U.S. News & World Report Ranks Northwest Texas Healthcare as High Performing Hospital
Northwest Texas Healthcare System was recognized as a 'high performing' hospital in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and heart failure for the second year in a row by U.S. News & World Report.
The most current ratings, for 2016-2017, evaluate data from nearly 5,000 centers across multiple clinical specialties, procedures and conditions. Scores are based on a variety of patient outcome and care-related factors, such as patient safety and nurse staffing. Hospitals are ranked nationally in specialties and regionally in states and major metro areas.
U.S. News assigns a rating to hospitals in a handful of common procedures and conditions, including heart failure and COPD. Survival chances at Northwest Texas Healthcare System 30 days after undergoing a heart failure or COPD procedure were rated 'best,' based on U.S. News' analysis of Medicare claims.
