LIFESTAR at Northwest Texas Healthcare System Deployed to Assist with Disaster Efforts

LIFESTAR at Northwest Texas Healthcare System has deployed their Fixed Wing Aircraft with two pilots, four crew members and one mechanic for rotating 12 hour shifts for the natural disaster Hurricane Harvey. LIFESTAR is part of Med-Trans Corporation who is actively working with AMR (American Medical Response) Ground Ambulance Services to provide a full complement of resources for patient evacuations. Med-Trans deployed 25 Helicopters and 29 fixed wing aircraft from across the country to assist in the Hurricane Harvey evacuation of critically ill or injured patients.

LIFESTAR will be transporting patients brought in by ground ambulance services to other tertiary care facilities. There will be no impact on the community with LIFESTAR Fixed Wing Leaving. LIFESTAR will still have two fully functional staffed helicopters with additional support from our sister company Med-Trans.

“We will continue to operate as normal and with safety as our top priority.” Statement from Stewart Jackson, Director of LIFESTAR. “Our LIFESTAR personnel are continually ready to respond to any situation, in any place at any time.”
