Inpatient Rehabilitation Center
The Inpatient Rehabilitation Center at Northwest Texas Healthcare System helps people return to their highest level of independence after a debilitating illness or injury. A team of highly-trained professionals are available to assist with a patient's recovery, including physical, emotional and social needs. The 10-bed rehabilitation unit is located on the fifth floor of Northwest Texas Healthcare System.
Surgery and chemotherapy can take a physical and emotional toll on people with cancer. The healthcare professionals in our Cancer Rehabilitation program support patients' wellness goals through supportive physical activity programs.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Center
The Rhythm of Life program at the Heart Hospital is a patient-centered program emphasizing exercise, education and encouragement. The center's highly skilled, professional healthcare team is comprised of cardiologists, registered nurses, exercise specialists and dietitians — all dedicated to making the process of recovery a positive and rewarding experience for patients. Northwest Texas Healthcare System occupational therapists help people return to the greatest areas of ability that is possible, particularly in activities of daily living including eating, bathing and dressing.
Our physical therapists focus on training to improve balance, transfers, mobility and strength, including the use of mobility devices, if necessary.
Northwest Texas Healthcare's speech therapists assess and facilitate treatment in communication, memory, problem solving and swallowing dysfunction. Cognitive rehabilitation techniques may be used to help people with memory and concentration impaired by a brain injury.
