Our freestanding emergency department, Northwest Emergency on Georgia, a Service of Northwest Texas Healthcare System®, features:

  • Convenient location for Southeastern Amarillo — I-27 and Georgia
  • Open 24/7
  • Laboratory and diagnostic imaging services, including CT, ultrasound and X-ray
  • Treatment for medical conditions, such as chest pain, stroke, respiratory distress, broken bones, pneumonia and more
  • Direct admission to Northwest Texas Healthcare System if needed
  • Most insurance plans accepted (Medicare, Medicaid, BCBS)

Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department

Northwest Emergency on Georgia has been recognized by The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), with support from The Gary and Mary West Health Institute and John A. Hartford Foundation, as Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA). The program recognizes emergency departments that provide excellent care for older adults.
