Northwest Texas Healthcare System is Opening Second Freestanding ER on Georgia

Northwest Texas Healthcare System (NWTHS) is proud to announce the opening of its second freestanding emergency center. Northwest Emergency on Georgia will open in early September 2019, and will be located at the intersection of I-27 and Georgia St. in Amarillo, Texas (4121 S. Georgia St.). Having a freestanding ER in the Southeastern part of Amarillo will enhance access to care and provide convenience to patients who live in this area. Services will provide the same excellent quality of care as expected in a fully licensed, hospital-based emergency center, with most patients being seen in less than 15 minutes.

Northwest Emergency on Georgia will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It will treat chest pain, stroke, respiratory distress, fractures, pneumonia, and infections, and provide 24-hour laboratory services (including outpatient lab services). These services are identical to the services provided at Northwest Emergency at Town Square. Both facilities are the only emergency centers in the Panhandle that have the full resources and support from the region’s only Level 3 Trauma Center. This means that if a patient needs to be admitted to a hospital, they get a direct admission into Northwest or admitted to the hospital of their choice.

Northwest Emergency on Georgia will accept Medicare, Medicaid, most Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Plans and most insurances.
